Injection‑Molding Process Parameters

Process Item Suggested Range / Description Remarks
Drying treatment Generally unnecessary; dry at 80℃ for 1‑2 h under poor storage condition
Barrel rear zone(feed section) 200‑250℃ Prevent thermal degradation.
Barrel middle zone(compression section) 210‑270℃
Barrel front zone(metering section) 220‑290℃
Nozzle temperature 220‑290℃ Do not exceed 290℃.
Mold temperature 40‑80℃,recommended 50℃ Smooth surface cannot be obtained below 50 ℃, weld‑line and flow‑mark defects tend to occur; warpage easily occurs above 90 ℃.
Injection pressure 80‑140 MPa (up to 180 MPa for thin‑wall parts)
Holding pressure 30%‑60% of injection pressure Prevent shrinkage cavity and excessive shrinkage.
Injection speed High‑speed injection is normally adopted to reduce internal stress; if surface defects appear, try low‑speed injection at higher melt temperature.
Runner & Gate Typical cold‑runner diameter:4‑7 mm. All gate types are available, typical gate diameter:1‑1.5 mm. For edge gate, depth ≥ half of wall‑thickness, width ≥ twice of wall‑thickness.
Round‑type gates and runners are preferred. Hot‑runner systems are applicable.
